Position: Plant Head - Electronics Manufacturing (EMS / SMT / Assembly)
Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To lead and manage end-to-end manufacturing operations of the plant including SMT lines, assembly operations, and ODM product integration, ensuring delivery of quality, cost, delivery, safety, and productivity targets aligned with organizational strategy.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1 Manufacturing Operations:
- Lead operations of 4 SMT lines and Assembly section (200+ manpower)
Ensure achievement of:
- Daily/weekly/monthly production targets
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Drive high-mix / low-volume and high-volume EMS production efficiency
- Ensure smooth SMT-to-Assembly material flow
2.2 Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute plant-level manufacturing strategy
- Align plant goals with business objectives (EMS + ODM)
- Support scaling of operations for new customer onboarding
2.3 Quality & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with:
- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (if applicable)
- Customer-specific requirements
- Drive:
- Zero defect culture
- CAPA effectiveness
- Reduction in customer complaints & PPM
- Lead internal and external audits
2.4 Cost & Productivity Management:
Drive cost reduction through:
- Process optimization
- Yield improvement
- Waste reduction
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma
- Improve line balancing and manpower productivity
2.5 Maintenance & Asset Management:
- Ensure high uptime of SMT lines and assembly equipment
- Monitor MTBF, MTTR, preventive maintenance adherence
- Optimize spare parts and maintenance cost
2.6 Supply Chain & Planning (if under scope):
Coordinate with SCM for:
- Material availability
- Inventory optimization
- Production planning adherence
2.7 People Management:
- Lead and develop ~200+ workforce
Ensure:
- Skill matrix development
- Training & competency building
- Strong discipline and engagement
- Build second-line leadership
2.8 Performance Management:
Own and review plant KPIs:
- OEE
- FPY
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Rejection/PPM
- Cost per unit
- Conduct regular performance reviews
3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's / Master's in Electronics / Mechanical / Production Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing (EMS)
- Minimum 5+ years in plant leadership role
Strong experience in:
- SMT operations
- Assembly manufacturing
- High-mix / low-volume production
- NPI & R&D coordination
