Plant Head

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Head to lead the complete manufacturing operations of one of North India's leading cable manufacturing organizations. This is a strategic leadership role with end-to-end ownership of plant operations, production, profitability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cable manufacturing, plant operations, production management, automation, supply chain optimization, quality systems, and people leadership. Reporting to senior leadership, the Plant Head will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, improving productivity, ensuring world-class manufacturing standards, and achieving business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Operations Management:
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production planning and execution.
- Drive plant productivity, capacity utilization, and operational efficiency while maintaining optimum quality standards.
- Ensure uninterrupted production through effective resource planning and coordination across departments.
- Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to improve operational KPIs.
P&L Ownership:
- Take complete ownership of the plant's Profit & Loss (P&L).
- Drive revenue growth through productivity improvements and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor plant budgets, manufacturing costs, and profitability.
- Ensure achievement of financial targets while maintaining operational excellence.
Production & Manufacturing Excellence:
- Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand and business objectives.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and production efficiency.
- Optimize manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining high quality standards.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Identify opportunities to modernize production processes using Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Implement best manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and operational performance.
Supply Chain & Cost Optimization:
- Collaborate with procurement, planning, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material availability.
- Optimize inventory levels and reduce working capital requirements.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives across procurement, manufacturing, maintenance, and logistics.
- Improve vendor performance and operational efficiency.
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain world-class quality standards across manufacturing operations.
- Implement preventive and corrective quality initiatives.
- Lead internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO and industry standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor production, maintenance, quality, engineering, planning, and operations teams.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop leadership capability and succession plans across plant functions.
- Drive employee engagement, capability development, and performance management initiatives.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop long-term manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Support expansion projects, capacity enhancement, and capital expenditure planning.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on operational improvements and business growth.
- Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to maintain a competitive advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
- 18-22 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in the Cable Manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience leading large manufacturing facilities with complete P&L responsibility.
- Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes, production planning, automation, maintenance, quality systems, and supply chain operations.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Background:
Candidates should have experience working with leading Cable Manufacturing companies and possess exposure to:

- Instrumentation Cables
- Industrial Cable Manufacturing
- Wire & Cable Manufacturing
- Experience in handling highly automated manufacturing plants and large production teams will be strongly preferred.
