Role Overview:
As the Plant Head for our Animal Nutrition facility in Surat, you will serve as the primary leader responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring the highest standards of production efficiency, quality compliance, and safety. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, quality assurance, R&D, and sales to align production output with market demand. Your leadership will directly influence the company's bottom line by optimizing operational costs, driving process improvements, and ensuring that our nutritional products meet the rigorous standards required to support animal health and performance. This role is pivotal in scaling our manufacturing capabilities and fostering a culture of operational excellence across the plant floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all plant operations, including production, maintenance, and logistics, to ensure seamless manufacturing workflows and timely delivery of animal nutrition products.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational waste and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
- Oversee strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations to maintain a zero-harm workplace for all plant personnel.
- Manage the annual operating budget and capital expenditure projects to ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term infrastructure growth.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing workforce by fostering a culture of accountability, technical skill development, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure all products comply with industry-specific certifications and nutritional safety standards.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale manufacturing facilities, specifically within the animal feed, premix, or food processing sectors.
- Proven ability to lead complex operations, with a track record of driving productivity gains and managing multi-disciplinary teams of 11 to 20 years of professional experience.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret production data and financial reports, enabling data-driven decision-making for process optimization.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate stakeholder relationships, from shop-floor workers to senior management and external vendors.
- Proficiency in implementing and maintaining ISO, GMP, or HACCP standards to ensure product integrity in a competitive market.
- A degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or Dairy Technology, complemented by a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and inventory management.
- Ability to thrive in an on-site, high-pressure manufacturing environment, demonstrating resilience and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
