Job Title: Plant Operations / Production Head Dry & Wet Plants

Department: Operations

Reports To: Manager Operations

Direct Reports: Production Superintendents, Shift Supervisors, Control Room Operators, Field Operators

Job Summary:

Responsible for end-to-end operational leadership of Dry (Crushing, Screening, Conveying) and Wet (Beneficiation) Plants. Ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality and throughput targets. Drives performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across all plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Safety:

- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure HSE compliance.

- Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary teams.

- Foster accountability, discipline, and teamwork.

Operational Excellence:

- Oversee daily operations of Dry Plant (crushers, screens, conveyors, stackers) and Wet Plant (HPGR, mills, flotation, separators, filters, tailings).

- Monitor and optimize KPIs: throughput, recovery, quality, availability.

- Coordinate closely with maintenance to maximize uptime.

Production Planning & Control:

- Develop and execute production plans aligned with ABP.

- Ensure continuous plant operation and coordination across shifts.

- Contribute to shutdown and maintenance planning.

Cost & Resource Management:

- Manage budgets for energy, consumables, reagents, and labour.

- Implement cost control and optimize resource use.

- Coordinate procurement of spares and services.

People Development:

- Build a skilled, high-performing team.

- Conduct performance reviews, training, and succession planning.

- Encourage cross-functional learning and development.

Compliance & Improvement:

- Ensure adherence to legal, OEM, and company standards.

- Lead root cause analyses and implement improvements.

- Support digitalisation and process automation initiatives.

Experience:

15-20 years in mineral processing with 7-10 years in leadership roles.

Strong technical expertise in Dry and Wet Plant systems.

Experience in process optimization, team leadership, and cost management.

Familiar with SAP, PLC/SCADA, and remote site operations.
