Role Overview :
As the Plant Finance Manager, you will be the financial backbone of our Bangalore manufacturing facility. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing all financial aspects of plant operations, from budgeting and cost accounting to financial reporting and variance analysis. You will collaborate closely with the plant operations team, supply chain, and corporate finance to ensure accurate financial data, efficient cost management, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Your insights and financial leadership will directly impact the plant's profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and manage the annual plant budget, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and monitor performance against budget, providing insightful variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost allocation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of manufacturing costs to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, providing clear and concise explanations of financial performance to plant management and corporate finance, highlighting key trends and potential risks or opportunities.
- Conduct regular internal audits of plant operations to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, identifying and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Lead the annual physical inventory count, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation, minimizing discrepancies and improving inventory management practices.
- Partner with the plant operations team to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives, driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, including GST and income tax, preparing and filing accurate and timely tax returns.
- Manage the plant's fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation, maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting principles and practices, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including proficiency in financial modules.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Solid understanding of taxation and internal control principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CA/MBA Finance preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Minimum 4-8 years of relevant experience in plant finance or cost accounting roles.
