Detailed Job Description: Plant Finance Manager
Location: Pune/Manufacturing Plant Site
Experience: 5-7 Years PQE (Post Qualification Experience)
Qualification: CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Cost & Management Accountant)
Industry: Manufacturing (EV, Automotive, or Electronics preferred)
Role Objective:
As the Plant Finance Manager, you will be the financial architect of our manufacturing operations. You will bridge the gap between shop-floor production and corporate financial goals, ensuring that every e-bike produced aligns with our Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) targets and Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- AOP Alignment: Manage the financial lifecycle of inventory from procurement to final assembly, ensuring all material requisitions stay within the approved AOP budget.
- Slow-moving Analysis: Identify and report on non-moving or obsolete inventory to optimize working capital.
- Conversion Costing: Implement robust frameworks to report on the cost of transforming raw materials into finished e-bikes (Direct Labor + Manufacturing Overheads).
- Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis into material price variance and labor efficiency variance.
- Standard vs. Actual: Continuously refine standard costing models based on actual floor performance and highlight deviations to the Plant Head.
- Policy Enforcement: Own and optimize the P2P cycle-from purchase requisition and vendor selection to final payment.
- Three-Way Matching: Ensure strict adherence to 3-way matching (PO vs. GRN vs. Invoice) within the SAP environment.
- Vendor Management: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) to ensure timely vendor payments while maximizing credit terms to support cash flow.
- Budgeting: Lead the plant's annual budgeting and monthly forecasting exercises.
- Taxation: Manage plant-level GST compliance, TDS filings, and ensure all manufacturing incentives/subsidies are accurately tracked.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and statutory auditors regarding plant operations.
Education: Mandatory CA or CMA qualification.
ERP Expertise: High proficiency in SAP (specifically FICO and MM modules) is required.
Accounting Standards: Strong command over Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and Cost Accounting Standards.
Cost Management: Proven track record in implementing "Conversion Costing" and "Marginal Costing" in a manufacturing entity.
- The "Maniac" Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who doesn't accept "it can't happen" as an answer.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate financial constraints to production and supply chain teams effectively.
- Analytical Precision: A hawk-eye for detail when reviewing large datasets in Excel or SAP.
- Cost Variance: Percentage deviation of actual manufacturing costs vs. AOP.
- Inventory Turnover Ratio: Efficiency of inventory utilization.
- P2P Cycle Time: Average time taken from requisition to payment.
- Audit Compliance: Zero "High Risk" observations in plant internal audits.
- Series C Momentum: Join a market leader on the verge of its next major funding round.
- Global Impact: Help bring Indian manufacturing to the global EV map across 15+ countries.
- High Ownership: This isn't just a "reporting" role; you will own the revenue and cost processes of a scaling plant.
