Description:
The Operations Planning & Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing supply planning, inventory management, and resource utilization within the operations unit. The role focuses on optimizing planning initiatives to improve timely order fulfillment, reduce lead times, and ensure alignment with overall supply plans. The incumbent will also be accountable for managing inventory, including situations where sales exceed invoicing, and for monitoring resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Planning & Scheduling: Ensure the sites supply planning process aligns with overall S&OP objectives. Provide feedback on the sites ability to meet demand plans and capacity requirements.
- Inventory & Fulfillment Management: Oversee end-to-end inventory control, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Implement optimization initiatives and manage short-term execution (S&OE) to support profitable order fulfillment.
- Continuous Improvement & Technology: Coordinate cross-functional improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma principles. Enhance delivery performance and forecast accuracy while implementing best practices in planning systems and ERP integration.
- Leadership & Team Development: Manage and develop the local planning team to build organizational capability, ensure high performance, and foster engagement in line with business objectives.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Operations & Planning: Expertise in production scheduling, operations planning, supply chain management, and inventory control to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment.
- Process Improvement: Strong focus on continuous improvement, enhancing process efficiency, and optimizing resource utilization across operations.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and foster collaborative, high-performing work environments.
- Lean & Six Sigma: Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process performance, forecast accuracy, and ERP-driven planning systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Practical experience in manufacturing and engineering operations, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, switchgear, or related technical environments.
