Role Overview :

The SCM Lead (Procurement Lead) will serve as the strategic anchor for all procurement and supply chain activities within our Nigerian operations. You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of material acquisition, from strategic sourcing and vendor qualification to complex contract negotiations and final delivery. Working closely with project directors, site managers, and global stakeholders, you will ensure that the supply chain remains resilient, cost-effective, and compliant with international standards. Your leadership will directly influence project timelines and the bottom-line profitability of our regional infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to optimize CAPEX spending and ensure the timely availability of critical materials for ongoing projects.

- Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with international and local vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service-level agreements.

- Oversee the entire vendor management lifecycle, including performance evaluation, auditing, and the development of long-term strategic partnerships.

- Manage complex material management workflows, ensuring seamless coordination between logistics, warehousing, and site-level consumption.

- Implement robust supply chain governance frameworks to mitigate risks associated with cross-border procurement and local regulatory compliance in Nigeria.

- Drive cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, volume aggregation, and the identification of alternative supply channels without compromising quality.

- Mentor and lead the local procurement team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale CAPEX procurement for the oil and gas or heavy infrastructure sectors, with a career tenure of 16 to 27 years.

- Proven ability to navigate complex supply chain environments in emerging markets, specifically within Nigeria or the broader West African region.

- Exceptional negotiation skills, with a track record of managing high-value contracts and resolving complex disputes with global suppliers.

- Strong analytical capability to interpret market trends, manage inventory costs, and report on supply chain KPIs to executive leadership.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building consensus among diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, technical teams, and international vendors.

- A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Masters degree or professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is highly preferred.

- High degree of adaptability and resilience, with the ability to lead on-site operations effectively in a demanding and fast-paced industrial environment.
