Role Overview:

As the Lead Financial Modeller based in Nigeria, you will serve as the primary architect for complex financial structures and investment appraisals for large-scale energy projects. You will work closely with senior leadership, project engineers, and external stakeholders to translate technical project parameters into robust financial models. Your output will directly influence multi-million dollar capital allocation decisions, risk mitigation strategies, and long-term project viability, ensuring that the company's strategic initiatives are backed by rigorous quantitative analysis and sound economic forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate project feasibility, capital expenditure, and operational returns for complex energy infrastructure assets.

- Conduct comprehensive valuation exercises to support mergers, acquisitions, and joint venture opportunities within the Nigerian energy market.

- Lead the end-to-end project finance lifecycle, from initial structuring and debt sizing to final financial close, ensuring alignment with international banking standards.

- Integrate advanced data analytics and business intelligence tools to automate reporting processes and improve the accuracy of long-term revenue projections.

- Partner with cross-functional teams to stress-test financial assumptions and identify key sensitivities that impact project profitability and risk profiles.

- Present high-level financial insights and recommendations to executive boards and external investors to facilitate informed decision-making on major capital investments.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in building complex, multi-layered financial models from scratch, with a deep understanding of DCF, IRR, and NPV methodologies.

- Proven ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable business intelligence, utilizing advanced analytical tools to drive operational improvements.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial narratives to non-financial stakeholders and high-level government or corporate partners.

- Strong leadership capabilities, having managed high-performing teams in challenging, fast-paced environments, specifically within the energy or infrastructure sectors.

- A professional qualification such as a CA, CFA, or an MBA from a premier institute, complemented by 15 to 24 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and project finance.

- High degree of adaptability to the Nigerian business landscape, with the ability to navigate regulatory complexities and regional market dynamics effectively.
