Role Overview:

As the Deputy Lead of IT Procurement, you will spearhead the end-to-end lifecycle of technology acquisition and vendor governance for our Nigerian operations. This role sits at the intersection of technical strategy and commercial excellence, requiring you to bridge the gap between complex IT requirements and supply chain efficiency. You will collaborate closely with the CTO, regional operations leads, and global procurement teams to ensure that our technology stack remains cutting-edge, cost-effective, and compliant with international standards. Your leadership will directly influence the company's ability to scale digital infrastructure while mitigating risks associated with high-value technology contracts and vendor dependencies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Formulate and execute comprehensive IT procurement strategies that align with the company's long-term digital transformation roadmap and operational goals.

- Lead complex RFP processes, from initial requirement gathering to final contract negotiation, ensuring optimal commercial terms and service level agreements.

- Oversee the end-to-end vendor management lifecycle, including onboarding, performance evaluation, and strategic development to foster long-term partnerships.

- Implement rigorous IT governance frameworks to ensure all procurement activities adhere to corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

- Manage high-value IT contracts, ensuring that service delivery meets technical specifications and provides maximum value to the organization.

- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and onboard vendors capable of supporting specialized industrial technology needs in the Nigerian market.

- Mitigate supply chain risks by maintaining a diversified vendor base and proactively managing contract renewals and exit strategies.

- Mentor and lead the procurement team, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, transparency, and operational excellence.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale IT procurement portfolios, with a deep understanding of hardware, software licensing, and managed services.

- Proven ability to navigate complex contract negotiations, balancing technical requirements with financial constraints and risk management.

- Strong proficiency in IT governance and compliance, with the ability to translate technical needs into structured procurement policies.

- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and maintaining productive relationships with global technology partners.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends and supply chain dynamics to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex procurement strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred, complemented by relevant professional certifications in procurement or IT management.

- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, on-site environment, demonstrating adaptability to the unique operational challenges of the Nigerian energy and technology landscape.

- Candidates must possess 18 - 24 years of relevant experience in IT procurement and strategic sourcing.
