Role Overview
We are building a next-generation camera and imaging brand and are looking for a National Sales Head who can build the India business from the ground up.
This is not a maintenance role - this is a zero-to-scale leadership mandate. The ideal candidate will bring strong distribution expertise from established camera or consumer electronics brands and combine it with the agility, ownership, and hustle required in a startup environment.
You will architect the entire offline sales ecosystem, drive aggressive revenue growth, establish distributor networks, and position the brand to compete with market leaders like Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, and GoPro.
Core Mandate
Build, scale, and dominate
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the National Sales Engine from Scratch
- Design and execute a national GTM strategy for India.
- Set up complete distribution architecture including:
National distributors
Super stockists
Regional distributors
Modern trade partnerships (Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, etc.)
Specialty camera and photography outlets
- Identify and onboard high-quality distribution partners with strong secondary reach.
- Establish commercial frameworks including margin structures, schemes, trade terms, and credit policies.
2. Revenue & P&L Ownership
- Own end-to-end India revenue targets and profitability.
- Build annual and quarterly sales operating plans.
- Drive aggressive market penetration across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities.
- Ensure strong primary and secondary sales movement with healthy inventory cycles.
- Monitor working capital, credit control, and distributor ROI.
3. Market Creation & Brand Penetration
- Position the brand against established competitors (Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, GoPro, Nikon).
- Develop differentiated strategies for:
Professional photographers
Wedding & studio segment
Content creators & vloggers
Adventure & action sports ecosystem
- Build relationships with photography communities, academies, and influencers.
- Drive national retail visibility, in-store branding, and promoter strategy.
4. Leadership & Team Building
- Hire and build a high-performance national sales team:
Zonal Sales Heads
Regional Managers
Area Sales Managers
Field Sales Executives
- Create a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs and incentive plans.
- Develop succession planning and scalable org structure.
5. Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Founder/CEO on expansion roadmap.
- Align with marketing for product launches, campaigns, and retail promotions.
- Coordinate with supply chain to ensure availability and demand planning.
- Implement data-driven MIS systems for forecasting and performance tracking.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 14-18 years of experience in Consumer Electronics / Imaging / Technology.
- Strong background in offline distribution and national channel expansion.
- Experience working with major distributors handling brands like Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, GoPro, Nikon, etc.
- Demonstrated success in scaling revenue in competitive markets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and execution capability.
- Experience in startup or high-growth environment preferred.
