Perfetti Van Melle - Assistant Manager - Inbound Warehouse & Logistics Lead

Role & responsibilities :

- This critical role is accountable for efficiently managing material Warehouse and Logistics activities both within and outside the factory. Responsibilities include overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of material to Production, inventory control, and various related tasks.

- This role involves close coordination with cross-functional departments such as Planning, Production QA, and Finance, as well as the supervision of a larger team to ensure smooth Warehouse and Logistics operations.

- RMPM Warehouse Management:- Oversee all aspects of RMPM Warehouse activities outside the factory. Ensure efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of material while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

- Logistics Planning:- Develop and implement effective logistics plans to optimize the movement of goods from external warehouse to plant or from Vendors to plant for JIT material. Collaborate with

Vendors to plan and enhance delivery against production schedules.

Inventory Control:

- Implement and manage inventory control measures to maintain optimal stock levels. Conducts regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy in inventory records.

- Manage First in First Out of Batches to avoid expiry of material. Facilitate month-closing activities, including conducting stock audits through the finance team and performing post-audit stock reconciliation.

Performance management:

- Analyse various reports related to warehouse and Vendor deliveries. Review vendor delivery performance and analyze date for process improvement.

Scrap Disposal Management:

- Manage the contract of scrap Disposal and Sales.

- Identify Vendors and ensure compliance for scrap disposal. Manage the process of scrap disposal, including segregation, storage, de-shaping, loading and documentation.

Team Supervision:

- Lead and supervise a team of co-workers, shop floor employees, external warehouse staff, and contract labour. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance.

Process Improvement & Productivity:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the warehouse and logistics functions. Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize workflows.

Compliance and safety:

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, FSSAI, FSSC, ISO and GWP and safety standards in all warehouse and Transportation activities.

- Establish and enforce safety protocols and conduct regular training sessions for warehouse and Fleet staff.

System Transformation and Automation:

- Contribute to system transformation initiatives, collaborating with IT and relevant stakeholders.

- Identify opportunities for automation in warehouse and logistics processes and lead implementation efforts.

Preferred candidate profile :

Experience: Individual having approx. 5 to 7 years of experience in Inbound Warehouse and Logistics.

Education: B.Tech / B.E / P.G in Logistics Management
