Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding for Mumbai Branch to lead and manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations, including client coordination, overseas agent management, shipment documentation, and rate negotiations.

The role requires strong operational expertise to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant freight forwarding processes while maintaining high service standards for key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate day-to-day freight forwarding operations for import and export shipments.

- Lead rate quotation preparation and commercial negotiation with clients to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

- Ensure seamless client coordination and overseas agent communication for smooth shipment execution.

- Prepare, review, and manage complete shipment documentation in line with regulatory and company standards.

- Send pre-alerts for import and export shipments to overseas partners and customers.

- Provide daily shipment status updates to management and key customers.

- Monitor operational timelines and ensure on-time documentation and cargo movement.

- Prepare monthly MIS reports, cost sheets, and support payment follow-ups.

- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and industry best practices.

- Support process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, or customer service roles.

- Strong expertise in rate quoting, pricing analysis, and client negotiations.

- Proven experience in shipment documentation (Import/Export) and overseas coordination.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, spreadsheets, and data entry.

- Hands-on experience with Logisys or similar logistics management systems.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
