Job Title: Payroll Manager - US Payroll

About the Role:
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end US payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll cycles. The role requires strong knowledge of US payroll regulations, leadership capabilities to manage a team, and analytical skills to identify and implement process improvements.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs):
- Manage and oversee end-to-end payroll processing for US employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws.
- Review salary calculations, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Ensure compliance with US tax regulations including W-2, W-4, 1099, and other statutory filings.
- Coordinate with Finance and HR teams to validate payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, audit trails, and documentation for compliance.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team to ensure timely and error-free payroll delivery.
- Manage relationships with US clients, vendors, and third-party payroll providers.
- Analyze payroll data and prepare periodic reports for management.
- Implement process improvements and automation to enhance payroll efficiency.
- Ensure data privacy and compliance with employee information security standards.
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to payroll and taxation.
- Stay updated on changes in US payroll legislation and apply updates as necessary.
- Manage multiple payroll cycles effectively and ensure adherence to deadlines.
Required Skillsets:
- Strong expertise in US payroll processing and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
- In-depth understanding of payroll tax filings, benefits, and statutory deductions.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
- Leadership ability to manage, train, and motivate payroll staff.
- High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and report generation tools.
- Good knowledge of process automation and payroll optimization strategies.
- Understanding of Indian payroll and employment laws (preferred but not mandatory).
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
