Role Overview
As our Product Analyst, you'll turn data into insights and uncover hidden usage patterns-using Mixpanel, Metabase and direct user conversations to ensure our product continually adds value to users' lives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Exploration & Cohorting
- Design and maintain user cohorts in Mixpanel and Metabase.
- Build dashboards and ad- hoc reports to track activation, engagement, retention, monetization and "value moments" (e.g., time saved, habits formed).
Hidden Pattern Discovery
- Employ advanced segmentation (clustering, RFM, behavior- based) to surface under- the- radar user segments and unexpected flows.
- Leverage sequence- and path- analysis to identify drop- off points and new feature adoption pathways.
Value- Drive & Impact Measurement
- Define metrics that capture how the product augments users' goals and quantify their impact on retention and NPS.
- Track end- to- end user journeys (activation - habitual use - advocacy) and pinpoint "value levers" at each stage.
Hypothesis & Experimentation
- Collaborate on A/B and multivariate tests: craft hypotheses, prioritize experiments, validate outcomes and recommend optimizations.
- Build lightweight "data sandboxes" or prototypes for rapid hypothesis validation.
User Research Collaboration
- Conduct user interviews and surveys to validate data- driven hypotheses and understand "why" behind behaviors.
- Synthesize qualitative feedback with quantitative analyses to guide product decisions.
Cross- Functional Enablement
- Act as the analytics partner in feature kickoffs: ensure clear instrumentation plans, success criteria, and self- serve dashboards for PMs, designers and marketers.
- Host regular "insights sessions" to evangelize data findings and spark cross- team ideation.
Predictive & Prescriptive Insights
- Build forecasting models (e.g., churn risk, upsell propensity) to drive proactive engagement strategies.
- Recommend customer- centric "playbooks" based on predictive signals (e.g., personalized nudges, support interventions).
Stakeholder Reporting & Storytelling
- Present weekly/monthly deep- dives and quarterly OKR reviews, crafting concise data narratives and action plans.
- Create "data briefs" and slide decks that highlight key insights, business impact and next steps.
Must- Haves
- 2-4 years in a product analytics or data- driven role.
- Proficiency with Mixpanel, Metabase (or equivalent BI tools).
- Strong SQL skills and comfort with spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication: able to translate data into clear, concise narratives.
- Curious, hypothesis- driven mindset with both quantitative and qualitative research chops.
