Partner - Venture Capital/Private Equity

Role description:

- Part of the leadership team with the intent of identifying and backing pioneering founders primarily in the consumer space. Responsibilities include:

a. Leading deal sourcing through thesis-backed thought leadership- building and maintaining the relevant industry networks, influencing founders on why the organisation could be a value-added partner for them

b. Take complete responsibility for all aspects of deal evaluation to investment closure by working alongside a team of VPs and investment analysts- ability to guide the final decision-making by engaging with the investment committee-legal structuring and rights negotiation on every deal.

c. Lead portfolio management activity by playing an active board role where possible, and guide founders on follow-on fundraising, matters of strategy, etc

d. Mentoring junior team members towards the objective of a seamless investment decision-making process and their own career progression within the firm

Reporting to: Managing Partner

Location: Mumbai

Educational qualification:

- Postgraduate degree or relevant professional qualifications from top-tier institutes. Additional qualifications, such as CFA or CAIA, will be valuable

Job specifications:

a. 10-12 Years of prior experience working in early stage investing, investment banking, consulting or a startup company with approx 2-5 years of investing experience as compulsory.

b. Deal experience from start to finish / independent self-starter who is willing to do what it takes

c. Excellent communication skills

d. Experience with portfolio management

e. A strong roster of industry connections and networks, and the ability to drive relationship management with founders and peer investors
