Purpose of the Role:
The Product Manager will own the end- to- end lifecycle of Panasonic's AV solutions portfolio- defining strategy, developing the roadmap, driving cross- functional alignment, and ensuring successful commercial outcomes. Acting as the subject- matter authority for the designated product lines, the role will influence strategic decisions, identify new growth opportunities, and champion product excellence from discovery to retirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership:
- Define and execute a multi- year product strategy aligned with Panasonic's business objectives, technology capabilities, and global AV trends.
- Document key findings and decisions in Market Requirement Documents (MRDs)/Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
- Own the product lifecycle including conceptualization, design, engineering collaboration, launch, optimization, and retirement.
- Drive portfolio planning, pricing strategy, segmentation, competitive analysis, and business case development for new and adjacent products.
Cross- Functional Leadership & Execution
- Partner with engineering, design, manufacturing, sales, service, and marketing to translate market requirements into robust technical specifications.
- Lead cross- functional alignment for successful product delivery, launch readiness, and market adoption.
- Develop comprehensive product collateral including use cases, datasheets, pitch decks, requirement documents, white papers, and customer- facing roadmaps.
Customer, Market & Competitive Intelligence:
- Engage directly with enterprise customers, channel partners, and end- users to gather insights, validate concepts, and refine product direction.
- Define GTM strategies for Successful product adoption in the market.
- Conduct detailed market research to anticipate technology trends, competitive threats, and emerging opportunities.
- Represent Panasonic at industry events and conferences to strengthen product positioning and stay informed on evolving industry dynamics.
- Support PoCs & Demos lead in developing PoC Proposals and evaluate new use cases and technologies.
Technology Expertise & Innovation:
- Apply expertise in AV- over- IP protocols, E- Ink Technologies, SaaS platforms, IoT integrations, and mobile/cloud architectures to guide product innovation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and explore strategic partnerships to enhance Panasonic's AV ecosystem.
- Ensure technology decisions align with long- term scalability, reliability, and commercial goals.
Portfolio Performance & Business Management:
- Maintain oversight of product performance, inventory forecasts, supply chain dependencies, and backlog prioritization.
- Build and refine quarterly sales forecasts, profitability projections, and growth models.
- Recommend data- driven actions to maximize revenue, margin, and market impact.
Stakeholder Communication & Influence:
- Provide executive- level updates on roadmap progress, risks, and strategic opportunities.
- Advocate for customer needs and ensure voice- of- customer is embedded in product decisions.
- Foster strong relationships across engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership teams to drive collaboration and accountability.
Function Specific Requirements:
- Strong Business Acumen
- Project management knowledge of schedule, cost, scope, quality assurance
- Experience to collaborate with ODM vendors
- Knowledge to secure quality of product
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile Methodologies
- Knowledge of Project Management tools like JIRA, MS Project
- Knowledge of MS tools like MS PPT, MS, Excel and MS word
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, MBA preferred.
- 6-8+ years of experience in product management or product development within an OEM/ODM or AV/IoT technology environment.
- Hands- on exposure to digital signage, E- Ink displays, electronic shelf labels, meeting- room technology, and cloud/mobile platforms.
- Strong understanding of AV- over- IP technologies, industry standards, and integration challenges.
- Demostrated experience launching and managing products across direct and channel distribution models.
- Proven ability to work closely with enterprise customers and partners across product lifecycle stages.
- Strong analytical, financial, and forecasting skills with a data- driven decision- making approach.
- Preferred Certifications in CSM & PMP
- Ability to travel frequently
