The Team
Youll work in close collaboration with the founding team, contributing to strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Founder: Amit Sah - BIT Mesra, IIM Bangalore, ex-OYO, Ola, Pristyn; previously built Zoplar (Blume, Beenext, Titan-funded)
- Head of Growth & Product: Arushi Arora - IIT Delhi, ex-BCG, Urban Company (7 yrs), scaled UCs fastest-growing vertical
- Head of Category : Charishma Motwani - ICAI | ex-BCG, Product Lead at Cars24, ( Co-founder in consumer tech )
- Head of Tech : Prateek Suraj - BIT Mesra | ex-Amazon, Citi , Zunpulse (CTO)
Role Summary
We are seeking a Category Lead to drive the overall strategy, growth, and profitability of assigned categories. The role involves end-to-end ownership of planning, assortment, pricing, and performance management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals.
- Own end-to-end category P&L, ensuring growth and profitability.
- Identify assortment opportunities and work with sourcing teams for product curation.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers; negotiate terms to maximize margins.
- Coordinate with marketing, operations, and product teams for category campaigns and performance optimization.
- Monitor sales trends, inventory, and pricing to ensure business efficiency.
- Analyze category performance metrics and take data-driven actions for improvement.
- Leverage market and consumer insights to drive innovation and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce fulfilment gaps.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 6-10 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or business operations (preferably in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and P&L management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and analytical tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
