OYO - Data Sciences team is looking for data scientists to join the Gurgaon HQ. - The Data Scientist will help the team with building automated algorithms, end-to-end data products, and business insights. The role requires high technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities, motivation,intellectual curiosity, and a passion for data discovery, analytics and data visualization. - The Data Science team is a business critical team that is at the center of innovation for the company and is a major driver of company's products and business. What you will do and achieve : - Be a part of the core team that designs algorithms for new IP products and services - Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance - Develop new technological ways for solving high-end problems with data science, analytics, and visualization - Design experiments, test hypotheses, build models, drive control groups and scale what works - Work with various stakeholders to identify the business requirements, define working methodologies and the expected outcome - Recommend ongoing improvements to methods, algorithms, tools and products - Make OYO a data-driven organization by creating platforms to better access, interpret and use data in driving day-to-day decisions and business functioning What you have : - Extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis - Ability to understand and build various data structures and common methods in data transformation - Deep understanding of statistical modeling (Regression, Clustering, Decision trees), machine learning, algorithms, data mining concepts, and a track record of solving problems with these methods - Experience with Deep Learning, SVM, k-nearest neighbors, Random Forests, Ensemble Methods, Logistic Regression, Probability Theory, Bayesian/Markov networks etc. - Demonstrated programming skills in relevant languages, including R, Python, SQL etc. - Great if you also are well versed with Spark, Hive, Pig, d3, Ruby - Graduate degree in relevant fields of study: Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Physics or Mathematics is preferable - 2-4 years of related work experience, with a host of interesting problems you have solved - Great communication skills, collaborative team spirit, intellectual curiosity to constantly keep digging for more insights and interpret data in unusual ways driving unique insights
