Job Title: Chartered Accountant - Media Barter Operations

Location: Delhi

Experience: 3-7 years (Media / Advertising / Barter preferred)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to manage accounting, compliance, and financial controls for a media barter-based business model. The role involves handling barter transactions, valuation of media inventory, reconciliation of stock vs media utilization, GST compliance, and coordination with media planners, vendors, and brand partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Barter Accounting & Financial Management:

- Record and manage barter transactions involving media inventory vs product stock.

- Ensure accurate valuation of media space/time and product stock as per agreed barter rates.

- Maintain proper accounting entries for non-cash transactions in compliance with accounting standards.

- Track media utilization vs stock received and ensure timely reconciliation.

Media & Inventory Reconciliation:

- Reconcile media schedules, release orders (ROs), and proof of performance (POPs) with barter stock.

- Monitor pending, utilized, and excess inventory in barter deals.

- Coordinate with media planning and operations teams for deal closure and reporting.

GST, Taxation & Compliance:

- Handle GST implications on barter transactions (media services vs goods).

- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS, and statutory compliances.

- Coordinate with auditors and consultants for audits and assessments.

- Ensure agreements and invoicing are compliant with tax laws.

Billing, Invoicing & Documentation:

- Prepare and verify barter invoices, media invoices, debit/credit notes.

- Review barter agreements from a financial and compliance perspective.

- Maintain proper documentation for audits and brand partners.

Financial Reporting & Controls:

- Prepare monthly MIS, revenue recognition reports, and barter exposure summaries.

- Monitor profitability of barter deals and flag risks.

- Implement internal controls to avoid revenue leakage or stock mismatch.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of barter accounting and revenue recognition

- Knowledge of media buying, media rates, and inventory-based deals

- Expertise in GST on services and goods

- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills

- Ability to work closely with sales, media planning, and operations teams

- Proficiency in Tally / ERP / Excel

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory

- Experience in media agency, advertising, barter, FMCG, or inventory-driven businesses preferred

Preferred Experience:

- Media barter agencies

- Advertising / OOH / Print / Radio / Digital media companies

- FMCG or corporate gifting companies involved in barter
