The Equity Analyst (buy side) will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of publicly traded companies in Indian Market for investment management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the financial markets, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have a keen interest in conducting in-depth research on publicly traded companies and industries.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Focus on conducting rigorous fundamental research encompassing financial statement analysis, industry dynamics, and competitive positioning, complemented by active engagement with company management and a proactive approach to identifying compelling new investments for a buy-side investment horizon.

- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast company performance under various scenarios and derive valuations using a range of methodologies, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and sum-of-the-parts analysis, tailored to our investment objectives.

- Generate well-supported investment recommendations (buy/sell/hold) based on rigorous, independent research and analysis, clearly articulating the investment thesis and potential risks.

- Actively monitor portfolio company performance, track relevant industry trends, and proactively assess the impact of macroeconomic factors and regulatory changes on existing investments.

- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential new investment opportunities, including deep dives into business models, management teams, and competitive positioning.

- Present research findings and investment recommendations confidently and persuasively to the investment committee, engaging in robust discussions and defending your analysis.

- Independently ideate broader investment strategy and asset allocation considerations based on your sector expertise and macroeconomic outlook.

- Contribute significantly to the development of investment theses across various sectors, leveraging your analytical skills and market insights.

- Effectively communicate investment ideas and research findings, both verbally in team discussions and in well-articulated written reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts to gather valuable insights and perspectives.

- Stay abreast of market developments, emerging investment trends, and best practices in fundamental research within a buy-side context.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field. CFA designation strongly preferred.

- Minimum 6+ years of experience in equity research or investment analysis, preferably with a buy-side firm or sell-side research.

- Proficiency in financial data providers (e.g., ACE Equity, Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and MS Excel.

- Must have experience in management meetings and plant visits.

- Strong understanding of financial accounting, financial modeling, and valuation techniques.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

- High level of integrity, ethical standards, and professionalism.
