Description:
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable backlog items.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing new features, technical debt, and operational stability.
- Oversee lifecycle management of internal DDI platforms (on-premises, cloud, and hybrid) as well as public/authoritative DNS services for domains and applications.
- Ensure secure, resilient, and performant DNS services, both internally and externally, including integration with WAF, CDN, and DDoS protection providers.
- Drive automation, APIs, and self-service capabilities within the DDI and DNS space.
- Partner with cloud and network engineering teams to enable seamless DDI and public DNS integration into multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Monitor and optimize service performance, SLAs, and KPIs across internal and public DNS services.
- Work with vendors and service providers (e.g., Infoblox, Azure DNS) to evaluate technologies and provide recommendations.
- Act as the subject matter expert for DDI and public DNS, advising stakeholders, ensuring compliance, and promoting best practices.
COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB:
- Ensuring high availability, elasticity, and security across globally distributed infrastructure, with proactive monitoring and incident response capabilities.
- Critical Infrastructure: DNS, DHCP, and IPAM are foundational to all IT services.
- Any downtime or misconfiguration can result in large-scale outages, affecting internal users, applications, and external customers.
- Critical Infrastructure: DNS, DHCP, and IPAM are foundational to all IT services.
- Any downtime or misconfiguration can result in large-cale outages, affecting internal users, applications, and external customers.
- Dual Responsibility (Internal & External): The role covers both internal enterprise DDI platforms (supporting data centers, hybrid cloud, and corporate networks) and external/public DNS services (supporting domains, websites, and customer-facing applications).
- Multi-Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Ensuring seamless operation across on-premises, Azure, AWS, and GCP, while integrating with SaaS providers and external DNS vendors.
- Security & Compliance Sensitivity: DNS is a common target for DDoS attacks, hijacking, and cache poisoning.
- The Product Owner must balance performance, redundancy, and security controls while maintaining regulatory compliance (GDPR, SOX, ISO27001, etc.)
- Global Scale & High Availability: Services must be redundant, geo-distributed, and available 24/7, requiring coordination with international teams, vendors, and managed services.
- Integration with Other Platforms: DDI and DNS must integrate with firewalls, WAF/CDN, identity services, automation platforms, DevOps pipelines, and cloud-native networking.
- Automation & Self-Service Demand: The role requires driving modernization through API-first designs, orchestration, and automation, reducing manual effort and enabling DevOps/cloud teams.
- Stakeholder Diversity: Stakeholders include network engineering, cloud, security, compliance, application owners, and business leaders, requiring strong communication and prioritization skills.
- Vendor & Technology Landscape: Multiple vendors and platforms are in play (e.g., Infoblox, Azure DNS), requiring strategic decision-making and lifecycle management.
- Driving cross-functional collaboration between engineering, security, operations, and business teams.
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc.) with modular design principles to support future growth, platform consistency, and auditability.
- Addressing complex regulatory and compliance challenges in cloud security, data sovereignty, and infrastructure governance, including adherence to Orbias cybersecurity standards.
- Managing the transition from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native architectures while ensuring minimal downtime.
EDUCATION:
- Masters degree in IT Management, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of proven experience in public/authoritative DNS services (e.g., Cloudflare, Route53, Azure DNS, Akamai).
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or Technical Lead within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong knowledge of DNS/DHCP protocols, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, and related standards (RFCs).
- Hands-on experience with automation and APIs (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python, RESTful APIs).
- Exposure to cloud-native networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid-cloud architectures.
- Familiarity with network and information security practices (DNSSEC, DDoS protection, Zero Trust).
- Vendor management experience, including RFPs, licensing, and lifecycle management.
- ITIL process knowledge (Change, Incident, Problem, and Capacity Management)
