Role Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for leading the end-to-end buying process for Opptra's Softlines (Fashion) brands across India. This includes seasonal and multi-season assortment planning, SKU selection, OTB management, buy placement, pricing execution, allocation, and replenishment across both online and offline (SIS) channels. As Opptra owns inventory, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the right products, quantities, and pricing flow into each market to deliver profitable and consumer-relevant assortments.

Skills & Experience:

- 5-8 years of buying experience, preferably in fashion, lifestyle, or softlines categories.

- Proven experience in assortment strategy and range planning, with the ability to build seasonal and multi-season assortments that balance trend, consumer insight, commercial targets, and SKU productivity.

- Depth in segmentation logic, price corridor alignment, and country-level assortment optimization.

- Strong understanding of the end-to-end buying lifecycle - from trend and market analysis to SKU selection, buy quantification, pricing, and in-season trading.

- Demonstrated experience in OTB planning, forecasting, intake phasing, and inventory ownership to meet margin, sell-through, and stock efficiency targets.

- Strong capability in pricing, discounting, markdown strategy, and margin management.

- A keen eye for fashion, strong product taste, and awareness of India fashion trends and consumer buying behaviours.

- Experience buying for India markets, with a good understanding of local regulations, restrictions, and operational nuances related to product approvals, compliance, and inbound processes.

- Experience collaborating closely with brand partners, marketing, and supply chain to support assortment execution, launches, and promotions.

- Independent, proactive, and a strong self-starter, capable of owning end-to-end responsibilities with minimal supervision.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate margin, sell-through, inventory turn, pricing impact, and range performance.

- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.

- A team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
