Overview:

The Operations Manager will serve as a key operational leader responsible for supporting the setup and day-to-day management of business operations, finance coordination, compliance support, vendor management, and cross-functional execution. This role encompasses supply chain and importation, coordination with contract manufacturers, distribution and logistics, finance and accounting oversight, human resources, information technology, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on leader with the ability to execute tactically while building scalable systems and processes. A strong accounting and financial management background is essential, along with experience managing operational functions in a growing business environment. Experience in importation and customs management will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Leadership:

- Lead and manage overall business operations and cross-functional activities.

- Establish operational priorities, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.

- Drive collaboration across departments to ensure seamless execution.

- Build scalable processes and operational infrastructure.

- Manage relationships with government authorities, vendors, and third-party service providers.

2. Supply Chain, Importation & Manufacturing:

- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations.

- Manage importation, customs clearance, and logistics processes.

- Coordinate with contract manufacturers on production planning and shipments.

- Ensure regulatory compliance related to product registrations and imports.

- Monitor supply continuity and mitigate risks proactively.

3. Distribution & Logistics Management:

- Manage warehouse, inventory, and third-party logistics operations.

- Ensure timely order fulfilment and delivery.

- Optimize distribution costs and service levels.

- Oversee returns management and logistics performance metrics.

4. Finance & Accounting Oversight:

- Manage monthly forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

- Oversee accounting operations, reconciliations, and statutory compliance.

- Lead month-end closing processes.

- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other regulatory requirements.

- Maintain strong internal controls and banking relationships.

5. Human Resources Management:

- Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, and employee records.

- Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements.

- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.

- Foster a professional and compliant workplace culture.

6. Information Technology & Systems:

- Oversee business systems, hardware, software, and connectivity.

- Ensure smooth operation of ERP and operational systems.

- Support information security and technology implementation initiatives.

7. Regulatory & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, regulatory, and licensing requirements.

- Monitor regulatory changes impacting business operations.

- Liaise with legal and compliance stakeholders on relevant matters.

Must Have:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.

- CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

- 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in operations management with financial oversight responsibilities.

- Proven experience in accounting, budgeting, reporting, and statutory compliance.

- Experience managing cross-functional teams across operations, supply chain, logistics, and finance.

- Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, nutrition, wellness, or direct-sales industries preferred.

- Exposure to importation, customs clearance, and third-party logistics management is desirable.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong financial and business acumen.

- Knowledge of GST, TDS, labour laws, and compliance frameworks.

- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills preferred.
