Position / Job Title: Plan Head

- Designation: Head - Operations

Job Purpose:

- To lead and manage the overall operations of the Plant, encompassing production, quality assurance, maintenance, and materials management.


- Ensure operational efficiency, product quality, cost-effectiveness, and safety in alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure zero major accidents and maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

- Drive operational excellence across production, maintenance, and stores functions.

- Monitor day-to-day operations to achieve efficiency, productivity, and budget adherence.

- Lead continuous improvement programs focusing on yield, process optimization, and 5S/Lean practices.

- Establish and implement departmental policies, KPIs, and standard operating procedures.

- Oversee planning, layout, and movement of raw materials and finished goods to ensure efficient inventory flow.

- Manage supplier quality, warranty issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

- Drive team development through structured hiring, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.

- Coordinate between Production, QA, Maintenance, and Stores to ensure seamless operations.

- Promote safety culture, environmental compliance, and statutory adherence.

- Lead cost reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and process innovation.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant operations, and quality systems.

- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM methodologies.

- Proven leadership, decision-making, and team management abilities.

- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to drive cross-functional coordination and deliver results under pressure.

- Awareness of safety, environmental, and statutory compliance norms.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Qualification:

- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical/ similar.

- Postgraduate qualification in Operations Management / Industrial Management / MBA (Preferred).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Production Efficiency: Achievement of monthly/annual production targets.

- Quality Performance: Reduction in rejections, customer complaints, and warranty claims.

- Safety: Zero major accidents and improved safety audit scores.

- Cost Optimization: Reduction in production cost per unit and inventory holding cost.

- Maintenance Efficiency: Achievement of planned uptime %, reduction in breakdown hours.

- Inventory Management: Optimal inventory turnover ratio and store accuracy.

- Team Productivity: Improved employee engagement, skill development, and retention.

- Process Improvement: Measurable gains from Lean/5S/Kaizen projects.
