The VP- Engineering is a senior leadership role that will define and manage the technical road map of the company. The individual would lead and build the engineering team to own the entire product delivery and work closely with the CEO and product team to define the business priorities. The individual would be required to demonstrate leadership across the following facets: Technology: - create a culture to enable technology as a catalyst for solving business & customer problems. - ensure the best engineering practices are adopted & followed across the organization. - hands-on with the technology stack and tools used by the team and can lead by example. - works closely with architects to choose the right technology stack & ensure RASP (reliability, availability, scalability & performance) characteristics of the product - apply the first-principles approach to solving technological problems Impact: - drives results & focuses on outcomes. - responsible for timeliness and quality of software deliverables that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration - communicates effectively and keeps internal & external stakeholders updated on the progress of projects. - anticipate problems & helps the team proactively Organizational: - understands the big picture & impact of day to day decisions on business, product & the customers. - sets the right direction for the team and leads by example - align & inspire the team to gravitate towards the shared vision - enable agility to respond to product changes effectively - innate ability to be build trust-based relationships People: - hire the right talent & manage the team performance by mentoring & coaching the team - actively engage with the team and help build their career path - manage conflicts proactively and provide timely feedback - motivate, inspire, recognize & reward good performance What would you have done so far? - Proven experience as a VP Engineering or similar leadership role with 5+ years of experience in a technology leadership role in the product space - Experience in building scalable b2c technology solutions with 10k plus concurrent users - Strong competencies in software design & architecture along with a deeper understanding of the scalability of distributed systems - Architected and developed cloud native technology solutions with five 9s (99.999%) uptime - Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures; relational and non-relational databases; - In-depth conceptual functional knowledge of Docker Containers, Kubernetes , microservice architectures, CI/CD, Monitoring, security, ddos attacks, etc. - Hands-on development experience in full stack technologies (frontend/mobile - android/kotlin, iOS/Swift, Web/React | Backend - AWS, REST APIs, Python, NodeJS, SQL etc | Databases - MySQL, MongoDB, RDS, Redshift, etc) - Passionate, detail oriented and capable of managing many critical projects with multiple stakeholders without losing sight of the big picture - Masters or Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science Location: Hyderabad About OpenPlay Technology Pvt.
