Role Overview:
- The Head of Digital / India Delivery Head - Automotive Digital will be responsible for leading and scaling end-to-end digital delivery for automotive clients across India and global markets.
- This role is a senior leadership position accountable for large-scale delivery operations, technology strategy, client partnerships, and financial performance across automotive digital engineering programs.
- The incumbent will drive innovation across connected vehicles, software-defined vehicles, embedded and mechanical engineering, and next-generation digital platforms, while ensuring operational excellence, delivery governance, and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Delivery Leadership
- Own and lead end-to-end delivery for large automotive digital engineering portfolios across OEMs and Tier-1 clients.
- Manage complex, multi-year, multi-geo delivery programs covering connected vehicles, embedded software, digital engineering, and automotive platforms.
- Ensure consistent delivery excellence through robust governance models, quality frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Scale delivery operations in line with business growth, ensuring optimal utilization, productivity, and margin performance.
Technology & Domain Leadership
- Provide strategic direction across automotive digital domains including connected vehicles, ADAS-supporting platforms, embedded systems, vehicle software, digital twins, PLM, and cloud-enabled automotive solutions.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices such as Agile, SAFe, DevOps, CI/CD, model-based development, and software-defined vehicle architectures.
- Collaborate with technology leaders to define and execute roadmaps for next-generation automotive digital solutions.
- Ensure alignment of engineering capabilities with evolving OEM and Tier-1 technology roadmaps.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the senior-most delivery escalation point for key GCC automotive clients in India and global stakeholders.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with CXOs, engineering heads, and program sponsors at OEMs and Tier-1s.
- Partner with sales and account leadership to support business development, solutioning, and large deal pursuits.
- Ensure high client satisfaction through proactive engagement, transparency, and outcome-driven delivery.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Lead and inspire large, diverse delivery organizations of 500+ engineers across multiple locations.
- Build strong leadership benches and succession plans across delivery, engineering, and program management roles.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, continuous learning, and talent retention.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives across the delivery organization.
Financial & Business Management
- Own P&L for the automotive digital delivery portfolio, including revenue growth, margins, and cost optimization.
- Drive operational efficiencies through automation, tooling, and optimized delivery models.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for delivery performance, financial health, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Support strategic planning, annual operating plans, and long-term growth strategies for the automotive digital business.
Required Experience & Skills:
Experience
- 20-25 years of experience in IT services, engineering services, or digital engineering organizations.
- Minimum 8+ years in senior delivery leadership roles managing large-scale, complex programs.
- Proven experience leading automotive digital delivery for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Strong background in managing India-based delivery for global automotive clients and GCC models.
Domain Expertise (Must Have)
- Automotive digital engineering, connected vehicles, embedded systems, or mechanical/digital engineering.
- Exposure to automotive software platforms, vehicle electronics, and end-to-end product engineering lifecycles.
Leadership & Management
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale organizations of 500+ engineers.
- Strong delivery governance, program management, and operational excellence expertise.
- Proven capability in managing senior stakeholders across geographies and cultures.
Business & Financial Acumen
- Strong understanding of P&L management, delivery economics, and commercial models.
- Experience supporting large deals, renewals, and strategic account growth.
Communication & Influence
- MBA from a tire -1 or tire -2 institute is required
- Excellent client-facing communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, internal leadership, and external partners.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Computer Science, Electronics, or related disciplines preferred
