
About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and execution-driven Business Head - Stock Broking to build and scale our in-app stock broking business from the ground up. This role carries full P&L ownership and is responsible for driving GTM, marketing, and distribution in close partnership with Product and Tech teams. The leader will focus on customer acquisition, trading activation, funnel optimization, and long-term retention, bringing deep expertise in stock broking products and a proven track record in scaling consumer trading platforms.
Responsibilities:
Sales, Revenue & Strategy
- Define the overall broking strategy (active traders vs long-term investors, equity vs derivatives, advisory vs execution-only).
- Position the broking business as a market leader through strategic branding, marketing, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Develop and execute a high-impact sales and distribution strategy to achieve market penetration and revenue targets.
- Drive customer acquisition by leveraging cross-selling opportunities within the existing user base and external ecosystems.
- Own revenue mix decisions (brokerage, subscriptions, margin funding, cross-sell).
- Design and optimize customer journeys across onboarding, KYC, trading, portfolio tracking, and insights.
Operations & Technology
- Own daily trading metrics: active traders, order success rate, RMS blocks, peak-load performance.
- Oversee the end-to-end broking operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to best practices.
- Champion automation and AI-driven tools to optimize trading execution, customer engagement, and risk management.
- Drive customer trust metrics: complaint ratios, trade disputes, grievance resolution TATs.

Regulatory & Risk
- Act as the primary business owner for SEBI, exchanges, and depositories.
- Own risk frameworks for margin trading, leverage, derivatives exposure, and client protection. Ensure 100% compliance with SEBI, NSE, BSE, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Lead regulatory readiness for audits, inspections, circular changes, and enforcement actions.
People Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, performance, and compliance.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in leading a scaled retail broking business (1M+ users or meaningful daily volumes) with hands-on experience in equities and F&O.
- Proven track record of scaling consumer-facing broking products.
- Direct exposure to SEBI-regulated environments, audits, and exchange interactions
- Strong experience in P&L ownership, GTM execution, and growth marketing.
- Deep understanding of equities, broking models, pricing, and trading behavior
- Ability to work in high-ownership, cross-functional environments with Product and Tech teams.
