Role Overview:
ONDC is looking for a business leader to drive network growth and participant success in the Cross-Border & Export category.
This role owns strategy and execution for building, onboarding and scaling the exporter, seller, and logistics partner ecosystem that will power international trade on the network while championing a frictionless experience for merchants and customers engaging across borders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the business strategy and growth roadmap for the Cross-Border & Export category on the ONDC network.
- Build and manage relationships with exporters, brands, manufacturers, logistics/3PL partners, and ecosystem stakeholders to expand category depth and transaction volume.
- Define GTM strategy for cross-border trade, working cross-functionally with product, technology, and policy teams to remove adoption barriers across markets.
- Ensure compliance across the value chain.
- Drive participant onboarding, activation, and scaled adoption of exporters and logistics partners across the category.
- Be a champion of merchant and customer experience on the network, partnering with logistics and fulfilment participants to create a frictionless cross-border journey.
- Track category performance (participant growth, transaction volumes, GMV) and report on category health to leadership.
- Represent ONDC in trade, logistics, and industry forums, and in government/ ecosystem engagements as relevant.
- Lead and mentor a team managing category-specific execution.
Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in cross-border e-commerce, export/import, or global marketplace category management.
- Export experience is a must for this role.
- Track record of owning P&L and business growth charters.
Core Skills:
- Strong business acumen with a demonstrated "business head" orientation comfortable owning outcomes across category, network, and partner ecosystem at once.
- Stakeholder management across internal teams, exporters/logistics partners, and external ecosystem players.
- Strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution capability in cross-border supply chain and trade compliance.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Data-driven decision-making and category performance tracking.
