About Strategic Initiatives and Investments Management Group (SMG):
MEIL intends to be a nimble, efficient and future ready organisation to capture various business opportunities that are evolving as a result of structural changes in the domestic and global economy. The SMG Team has been entrusted to help the management deliver on a range of strategic initiatives that include devising strategies to optimise and unlock value from existing businesses, implementation of strategies to deliver ambitious medium to long term growth, facilitate creation of partnerships with domestic/global investors, capital markets, strategic companies etc. for capturing newer opportunities, listing of some select group companies in public markets etc.
This team is a lean team comprising young, high-performing professionals who will lead initiatives mentioned above enabling the group to pursue them including mobilizing financing and creating value from these investments.
Responsibilities:
The role of the candidate will primarily be the following, but not limited to:
- Track investment opportunities and key emerging trends that may lead to creation of new business avenues across select sectors.
- Analyze potential investment and value creation opportunities and prepare analytical point of view documents on these opportunities for perusal by the top management of the company.
- Make presentations, analytical notes, financial/economic models etc. to assist the decision- making process with necessary insights.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders including consultants, advisors, potential business partners, Government departments, investment agencies, platforms such as the World Economic Forum, domestic and global industry associations etc. as necessary.
- Lead initiatives for raising funds through debt, capital markets, private placement in select group companies etc. for the group including coordination across the group companies for all due diligence and analytical work streams and coordination with investors such as PE's, strategics and large institutional investors.
- Lead initiatives involving taking select group companies to capital markets for fund raising (IPOs).
- Lead specific workstreams to create and design strategic initiatives for creating growth and value add opportunities for various businesses of the Group.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- A masters degree in management, economics, commerce etc. preferably from a top-tier institution (eg., IIMs, ISB, IITs, top global/national universities etc.).
- 6 - 10 years of work experience after post-graduation.
- Prior related experience in Corporate Strategy, Finance, Project Financing, Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Investment Banking is an advantage.
- Ability to develop comprehensive financial models, high quality presentations, detailed notes for management briefings, client and stakeholder discussions is a must.

- Willing to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances
- Good in working with diverse teams
- Strong communication and organization skills
