Role Summary:
Indiverse is building a new category - where world-class wildlife filmmaking, conservation storytelling, and immersive live IP intersect. We are looking for a sharp, commercially driven Business Development Officer to lead our revenue engine: identifying and closing partnerships, building a robust pipeline of brand, platform, and philanthropic deals, and navigating the capital conversations that fuel our long-term growth.
This is a primary BD role. You will own revenue targets, the partner pipeline, and deal execution. Investor relations is a meaningful but secondary function - you will support fundraising strategy and maintain investor engagement, but your mandate is growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Own and drive Indiverse's revenue pipeline - from cold identification through to signed deals.
- Lead outreach and engagement with corporate buyers, brands, platforms, OTTs, streaming services, and impact-aligned sponsors.
- Develop and close deals across: brand integrations and sponsorships, content licensing and distribution, co-production structures, CSR and philanthropy-led collaborations, and experiential/live IP partnerships.
- Build structured forecasting with clear pipeline stages, conversion milestones, and quarterly revenue targets.
- Represent Indiverse externally - at pitches, industry forums, and deal discussions.
Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Building
- Identify and develop long-term strategic partnerships with media houses, agencies, foundations, government bodies, and cultural institutions.
- Build alliances that extend Indiverse's IP reach - across digital, broadcast, and live/experiential channels.
- Maintain a prioritised list of partnership targets, with active engagement cadences and deal timelines.
- Surface new commercial formats and go-to-market structures as the content and live IP slate evolves.
IP Monetisation & Platform Strategy
- Develop monetisation strategies for Indiverse's growing IP slate - feature films, documentary series, youtube content and immersive live formats.
- Lead distribution conversations with OTT platforms, broadcasters, local and international content buyers.
- Work with leadership to price, structure, and protect IP licensing agreements.
- Identify white-label, co-production, or format-licensing opportunities for flagship IPs.
Fundraising Support & Capital Engagement
- Support the development of a structured fundraising roadmap aligned with Indiverse's growth stages - impact capital, strategic capital, and institutional funding.
- Contribute to and manage investor pitch materials, financial narratives, and supporting documentation.
- Lead or coordinate investor outreach campaigns, roadshows, and targeted engagement for capital rounds.
- Liaise with legal and finance to support term negotiations and closing processes.
Investor Relations
- Maintain ongoing, structured communication with current and prospective investors - covering strategy, milestones, and capital needs.
- Manage periodic investor updates, dashboards, and board-ready decks with accurate data and clear narrative.
- Curate investor touchpoints - briefings, Q&A sessions, and forums - that build trust and long-term alignment.
Strategy, Metrics & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the founders and production leadership to shape commercial strategy, pricing models, and market positioning.
- Define and track key BD metrics: pipeline velocity, conversion rates, deal value, partner engagement, and revenue attainment.
- Provide market and competitive insights to guide strategic prioritisation across the content and live IP slate.
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, and production to ensure commercial commitments are aligned with operational delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience & Track Record:
- 7+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership - within IP-led media, content, entertainment, live experiences, or impact ecosystems.
- Demonstrable success closing deals, expanding revenue streams, or securing capital in high-velocity, creative environments.
- Direct exposure to at least two of: content licensing, brand partnerships, distribution deals, co-production structures, IP monetisation, or fundraising/investor relations.
- An established network across media houses, studios, OTTs, brands, agencies, investors, or cultural institutions.
Commercial & Strategic Thinking
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to translate creative and impact narratives into structured revenue opportunities.
- Skilled negotiator - comfortable holding a position, finding creative deal structures, and closing.
- Comfortable with financial modelling, deal structuring, and investor-grade reporting.
Communication & Presence
- Excellent written and verbal communication - able to build compelling narratives for investors, partners, and internal leadership.
- Confident presenter and relationship builder, at all levels of seniority.
- Able to articulate Indiverse's value proposition with clarity, conviction, and nuance.
Execution & Ownership
- Self-directed and results-driven - comfortable building pipeline from scratch and owning outcomes, not just activity.
- High accountability, bias for action, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
- Collaborative and low-ego - able to work across creative, finance, and production functions without friction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Prior experience with content, media, entertainment, impact ventures, or tech startups.
- Existing network of potential investors, partners, and ecosystem connectors.
Prior experience as a founder or entrepreneur is strongly valued. Candidates who have built or run ventures are more likely to demonstrate a high sense of ownership, accountability, and comfort operating in ambiguity-qualities that are critical in an early-stage, IP-led ecosystem like Indiverse. We actively encourage applications from ex-founders and entrepreneurial leaders transitioning into growth or revenue leadership roles.
