Position Overview: As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for driving our technology and product development initiatives. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in startups and extensive experience in leading, coaching, and managing large software teams. You will have the opportunity to build products from scratch, work closely with business teams, and shape the technical direction of the company. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of talented engineers, and other engineering managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence Vision: Share the company vision and build next generational leaders and solve most impactful business problems for nurture.farm. Project Management: Coordinate with multiple teams, take ambiguity as a first class citizen, to build the best class of products in time. Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end development of multiple products, from ideation to deployment, ensuring they meet the highest quality and performance standards. Cloud Infrastructure: Provide strategic direction and hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes, to optimise our systems and ensure scalability. Database and Data Platform Technologies: Manage data platform technologies such as Spark, Flink, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, and others to drive data-driven decision-making and insights. Queuing Technologies: Lead the utilisation and optimization of queuing technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ for efficient data flow and communication within our systems. Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in machine learning, AI, geo image sensing, deep learning, transformers, and LLM, and apply them where relevant to enhance our products. Statistical Analysis: Utilise statistical analysis and data-driven techniques to make informed decisions and continuously improve our technical processes. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on startups. - Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. - Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and related technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes). - Expertise in data platform technologies, including Spark, Flink, and various databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, ScyllaDB). - Proficiency in queuing technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. - Familiarity with machine learning, AI, geo image sensing, deep learning, transformers, and LLM's is a significant advantage. - Strong analytical and statistical skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
