Get to Know our Team : As an Assistant Manager-Indirect Tax, you will have the unique opportunity to handle the end to end GST compliance for the legal entity and advise the business and operations team on GST compliance issues in consultation with the UPL's GST team. You will be part of the indirect tax compliance team that is rapidly growing in digital tax environment. The main focus of this position is managing all indirect tax compliance matters related to GST at legal entity level for the company including advisory, tax assessments etc. What you'll do : - Ensuring adherence to GST laws for all business models, GST compliances including filing of monthly and annual returns, computation of output tax liability, payment of tax, filing of GST returns, filing of statements and certificates as and when required pursuant to notice or summons. - Reconciliation of GST ITC including computation of ineligible ITC, GST Output tax liability, GST Electronic ledgers balances with the books of accounts on monthly basis and address discrepancies if any. - Facilitating GST compliance for machines and spares movement including issuance of e-way bills and necessary agreements in consultation with the respective cross functional departments. - Analysing transactional data and validating the correctness of the same to ensure compliance with company's policy and GST laws in consultation with the UPL GST team. - Working closely with multiple teams like financial accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking and treasury and to ensure complete and accurate tax accounting and reporting in tax returns and statutory filings. - Managing and closure of tax assessments and audits with guidance and support from UPL GST team. - Tax accounting and reconciliation of tax returns with financial books and tax reports on monthly and annual basis. - Identifying tax efficiencies during compliance process and filing of tax returns and implementing the same in different geographies across India. - Preparing adequate documentation which will be required for GST audits and assessments in future. - Building process and managing archiving and retrieval of tax data for all statutory purposes What we're looking for : - CA with 2-3 years exp. or CA/CMA (Inter) with 4-5 years post qualification indirect tax (GST) compliance experience. - Experience in financial accounting systems and accounting process with hands on experience of reconciliation of financial books with GST tax returns. - Experience in Big 4 public accounting firm, listed companies or large multi-state operated limited companies. - Knowledge and experience with accounting for Indirect Taxes under Indian GAAP required - Prior experience and knowledge in SAP will be preferred - Experience in working with cross functional team It's Great if you have : - Self-motivated and results-oriented, working with minimum direction, taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities - Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of cross-functional teams - Able to clearly express ideas and information to others and flex style according to the specific situation and audience - Able to grasp detail whilst understanding the "big picture", managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously - Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines - Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment, adapting well to change - Team leader and team player - Energetic and driven personality
