The opportunity
Lead next-generation UPI platform capabilities end-to-end: discovery, architecture-aligned design, build, launch, adoption and performance optimization at national scale. Deliver higher ecosystem adoption with predictable releases and reliability guardrails.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify emerging opportunities across payments, digital commerce, scalability, and ecosystem enablement, ensuring alignment with organizational and ecosystem priorities.
- Represent product strategy and innovation initiatives in executive forums, industry engagements, and governance platforms.
Product Discovery & Ecosystem Innovation
- Translate ecosystem insights into build-ready specifications, implementation plans, and scalable innovation frameworks.
Platform Strategy & Engineering Excellence
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure platform readiness, surge resilience, and performance improvements across ASR, latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Drive ecosystem-friendly integration models that accelerate partner onboarding and reduce implementation complexity.
Product Lifecycle Governance
- Establish post-launch feedback and learning loops to ensure disciplined execution from concept through optimization.
Leadership & Capability Building
- Influence internal and ecosystem stakeholders on product direction, innovation priorities, and platform evolution.
- Mentor Product Leads, strengthen second-line leadership, and foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and product excellence.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in digital payments platforms, UPI ecosystem architecture, API-first platforms, and interoperability frameworks.
- Deep understanding of product management, platform strategy, innovation lifecycle, and roadmap execution.
- Knowledge of transaction processing systems, payment workflows, ecosystem integrations, and scalable distributed architectures.
- Familiarity with platform reliability, performance engineering, observability, telemetry, product analytics, and release governance.
- Strong understanding of ecosystem-led platform evolution, scalability, and partner integration models.
AI & Data Capabilities
AI-Enabled Product Management
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve decision-making speed, execution efficiency, and product review cycles.
Data-Driven Prioritization & Experimentation
- Use AI-enabled design, experimentation, and simulation tools to accelerate product validation and reduce time-to-market.
AI-Assisted Observability & Reliability
- Enable AI-driven monitoring and observability through automated log analysis, issue clustering, regression detection, and incident intelligence.
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance operational visibility, platform reliability, and performance insights through intelligent monitoring solutions.
Experience & Leadership Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in product management, platform leadership, payments innovation, fintech, or digital ecosystem strategy.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale platform products, ecosystem-facing innovation programs, and API-driven platform initiatives.
- Strong expertise in product discovery, roadmap development, experimentation, and end-to-end execution.
- Experience operating in high-scale, mission-critical digital platforms with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and strategic influencing capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor product teams and build organizational product leadership capability.
- Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills and exposure to reliability engineering, performance optimization, and platform governance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real-time payments, banking platforms, fintech ecosystems, or national-scale digital infrastructure.
- Exposure to AI-enabled product management practices, intelligent product operations, and experimentation frameworks.
- Familiarity with observability platforms, performance analytics, and ecosystem-driven innovation programs.
