What you'll do:
The Associate Director of Mother Hub Gateway Operations has a critical leadership role responsible for the efficient and effective management of our central gateway operations. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in optimizing high-volume, automated sortation environments, particularly those utilizing cross-belt sorter technology. The AD will lead a large team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the seamless flow of packages through our gateway, meeting and exceeding service level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize gateway operations, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.
- Lead and mentor a large team of operations managers, supervisors, and associates.
- Collaborate with senior management to align gateway operations with overall company objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of gateway operations, including inbound, outbound, and sortation processes.
- Ensure the efficient and reliable operation of cross-belt sorter systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Implement and enforce operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage and optimize labor planning and resource allocation.
- Possess deep knowledge of cross-belt sorter systems.
- Lead initiatives to enhance sorter performance, increase throughput, and reduce downtime.
- Work with engineering and maintenance teams to implement preventative maintenance programs and address technical issues.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions to improve sortation efficiency.
- Establish and maintain high standards for quality and accuracy in package handling and sortation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to minimize errors and damages.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and present regular reports on gateway performance.
- Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage relationships with equipment vendors, maintenance providers, and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as logistics, transportation, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
What you'll need?
- Experience with complex operational, process, and performance improvement projects (lean or six sigma experience highly valued) including process mapping and process redesign
- 10+ years of supply chain, operations, or logistics experience (e-com experience will be added advantage)
- Strong process, manufacturing, or engineering background with an ability to understand workflow and throughput in the operation
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and synthesize multiple points of view into a streamlined action plan
- Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader who can effectively drive results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company
- Solid experience and In-depth understanding of Logistics operations with a track record of successful program/project delivery using design-thinking methodologies/ framework, tools and techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong skills in accessing and using analytical tools (Excel, Databases, SQL).
