Regional Sales Manager - Mutual Fund


Description:


- The Regional Sales Manager Mutual Fund is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing distributor and partner relationships across the assigned region.

- The role involves strategic planning, team leadership, channel management, and achieving AUM, SIP, and revenue targets in line with the companys business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve AUM, SIP, and revenue targets.

- Drive sales through multiple distribution channels including IFAs, national distributors, banks, NBFCs, fintech platforms, and institutional clients.

- Identify new business opportunities and untapped markets to expand the regional footprint.

- Ensure consistent growth in retail, HNI, and corporate segments.

Distributor & Channel Management:

- Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key distributors, wealth managers, and strategic partners.

- Conduct regular distributor engagement meetings, product presentations, and review discussions.

- Ensure activation, productivity, and retention of distributors across the region.

- Address distributor concerns and provide timely solutions to enhance partner satisfaction.

Team Management & Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Area Sales Managers / Relationship Managers.

- Set clear targets, monitor performance, and conduct regular reviews and coaching sessions.

- Build a high-performance sales culture focused on ethical selling and long-term client value.

- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of sales team members.

Product Promotion & Market Development:

- Promote mutual fund products including equity, debt, hybrid, ELSS, and passive funds.

- Coordinate with product and marketing teams for new fund launches (NFOs) and campaigns.

- Conduct investor awareness programs, distributor training sessions, and market events.

- Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and product positioning.

Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure adherence to SEBI, AMFI, and internal compliance guidelines.

- Promote ethical selling practices and ensure suitability-based product recommendations.

- Maintain accurate sales reporting, MIS, and CRM updates.

Reporting & Analysis:

- Track regional performance metrics including AUM, SIP inflows, redemptions, and net sales.

- Prepare periodic MIS reports, forecasts, and business reviews for senior management.

- Analyze sales trends and take corrective actions to meet business goals.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of mutual fund products and capital markets

- Expertise in distributor and channel sales management

- Strategic planning and execution capabilities

- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

- Strong analytical and reporting abilities

- Effective communication and presentation skills

Qualifications:

- MBA / Postgraduate degree in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management (preferred)
