Sales Manager - General Trade
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Sales Delivery & Planning
- Achieve monthly, quarterly & annual targets (primary, secondary & tertiary).
- Build beat-wise sales plans and monitor productivity and coverage.
- Identify sales gaps and implement corrective actions.
2. Distribution & Channel Management
- Expand distribution footprint across GT channels.
- Handle Distributor/Super Stockist operations-ROI, stock norms, rotation & claims.
- Ensure timely replenishment and healthy SKU mix.
3. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach & mentor Sales Executives and Sales Representatives.
- Conduct regular market working, joint calls & performance reviews.
- Build capability through continuous coaching and training.
4. Market Execution & Visibility
- Drive merchandising, POSM deployment & planogram adherence.
- Ensure perfect store execution for availability & visibility.
- Track competitor activities related to pricing, promotions & assortment.
5. Demand Planning & Stock Management
- Monitor distributor inventory health, ageing & stock-outs.
- Ensure forecast accuracy using SFA dashboards & market intelligence.
6. Retailer Relationship & CRM
- Build strong relationships with key retailers & wholesalers.
- Resolve trade issues and gather structured market insights.
7. Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate SFA/DMS reporting and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain discipline in trade spends, schemes & commercial processes.
