Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager - International Tax
Job Description:
Inbound & Outbound Tax and Regulatory Advisory:
- Provide comprehensive tax advisory services on cross-border structuring, withholding tax, and permanent establishment (PE) assessments to multinational clients.
- Ensure technically sound, compliant, and commercially viable solutions.
Tax Planning & Risk Management:
- Lead and coordinate tax planning strategies and risk mitigation assignments, collaborating with senior professionals to ensure alignment with client business goals.
Litigation and Multi-Jurisdictional Compliance Support:
- Assist clients with managing tax litigation, audits, and inquiries across jurisdictions, while ensuring ongoing compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Process Improvement & Tax Technology:
- Review key tax processes and recommend improvements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digital integration to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and sustain long-term client relationships by consistently delivering high-quality service, proactive communication, and strategic insights.
Service Expansion and Cross-Selling:
- Identify opportunities to extend services to existing clients.
- Participate in scoping, solutioning, and pricing discussions to deepen engagement and add value.
Client Engagement and Representation:
- Lead and participate in key client interactions including meetings, presentations, and strategy discussions.
- Represent the firms tax advisory practice with professionalism and clarity.
Team Leadership and Capability Building:
- Mentor, guide, and manage team members.
- Foster a culture of learning and quality by delivering training, supervising deliverables, and supporting career development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with internal teams across legal, transfer pricing, regulatory, and audit functions to provide clients with holistic and integrated tax solutions.
Project Management:
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Monitor progress, coordinate resources, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Practice Management & Internal Operations:
- Contribute to internal firm initiatives including financial performance tracking, knowledge management, process standardization, and resource planning.
Desired Candidate profile:
- Experience in Direct Tax Compliance Management, Internal Tax and FEMA Advisories, Tax treaty, Litigations, M&A Tax.
- Good writing and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic IT applications like MS Office, Tally, Winman, etc.
- Working experience in the tax domain during articleship.
