We seek to strengthen the leadership team of the Metallurgy Division at Business Level with a position of the Head HSE. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
To work towards maintaining a sustainable HSE Management system compliant to the local statutes in coordination with plant operations organization. This position will lead the continuous audit process to identify the scope for improvement and plan for development of HSE competence through regular training and capability building exercises.
General background: The ideal candidate is a Graduate in Engineering with professional qualification on Safety or Graduate in Environment / safety, with 7 to 10 years relevant experience.
Role & responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Factory's Act & Maharashtra factory rules w.r.t HSE
- Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations
- Extensive knowledge of Safety, Health & Environmental regulations, and policies
- Expert in conducting the HSE activities
- Conversant with HSE processes & statutory compliance.
- To drive HSE improvement initiatives across plant to provide safe & healthy environment at workplace.
- To drive HSE improvement Projects.
- To inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
- To formulate HSE policies in consultation with COO and implement the same.
- To ensure compliance of the SOPs related to HSE.
- To design strategies to reduce incidents of illness, environmental accidents and other issues that may affect employees safety.
- In case of accident / DO - Ensuring plant teams are compliant with 8D method, action plan & implement same.
- To design & implement training programs to provide safety awareness education.
Hazardous Waste Management.
Conducting Risk Assessments of new / existing processes / work locations and participate in risk mitigation measures.
Implementation of relevant Standards with direct engagement with line team -
1. PPE
2. Machine Safety 6. Lock, Tag & Try
3. Reporting of Incident / Accident 7. Electrical Installation Standard
4. Forklift Safety
5. Risk Assessment
- Monitoring all HSE KPIs, sharing HSE indices with operation team and ensuring continual improvement
- Toolbox Talk
- SIOPA through Line PPS
- Safety Audit
- Maintains element emergency preparedness for plant -
- Escape Route & Assembly Point
- Emergency Contact Number
- Conducting emergency drill
- Training on emergency preparedness other elated requisite elements to deal with emergency.
- Responsible for preparing written weekly and monthly HSE reports, statistics related to HSE performance.
