Job Title : Head - Insurance
Location - Head Office, Hyderabad
Reporting To Senior Management
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline
- Preferred : MBA in Finance / Risk Management / Fellow of Insurance Institute of India (FIII) / Diploma in Insurance / IRDAI certification
Experience : Minimum 25-30 years in Corporate Insurance Management
Preferably in Construction, Infrastructure, or Manufacturing Industries.
Preferred Age 50 years or above
Role Overview:
Telugu Language is Mandatory.
- The Head - Insurance will be responsible for overseeing and managing all insurance-related activities across the Group. This includes strategizing and administering the corporate insurance portfolio - comprising project insurance, Mediclaim, vehicle insurance, workmen compensation, , and risk mitigation planning etc.
- The role demands a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of corporate insurance strategies, regulatory compliance, claims management, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Insurance Portfolio Management:
- Design and implement insurance strategies covering projects, assets, personnel, and operations.
- Assess company-wide risk exposure and advise on adequate coverage.
- Liaise with brokers and insurers to negotiate group-wide insurance policies.
Health & Employee Benefits:
- Administer and manage group mediclaim, GPA, and GTLI policies.
- Coordinate with HR for smooth onboarding/offboarding of insured employees.
- Handle escalations and grievances related to medical claims and settlements.
Vehicle Insurance:
- Manage insurance for company-owned fleets including construction vehicles and passenger cars.
- Ensure timely renewal, endorsements, and claim settlements.
Claims Management:
- Oversee end-to-end claims processing for all types of insurance.
- Maintain proper documentation and track claim statuses.
- Interface with insurance providers and legal teams to ensure quick and fair claim closures.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and project-specific risks.
- Periodic review of insurance coverage against changing risk profiles.
Budgeting and Cost Optimization:
- Optimize insurance costs while maintaining adequate coverage.
- Prepare insurance budgets and forecasts for management review.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory guidelines under IRDAI and other applicable acts.
- Maintain proper records, MIS reports, and audit compliance documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 25 years of experience in corporate insurance functions.
- In-depth knowledge of various insurance products including engineering, marine, property, and employee benefit insurances.
- Proven experience in handling large-value claims and group insurance schemes.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills (brokers, TPAs, insurance companies).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Should be at least 50 years of age with stability and maturity to lead independently.
