Role Summary

We are seeking a high-caliber VP Transformation / Change Project Manager with extensive experience in leading complex, front-to-back change programs within the Investment Banking sector. Based in Mumbai, this strategic leadership role focuses on the Equities Prime Brokerage domain, encompassing both Cash and Synthetic products. You will be responsible for orchestrating large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between Front Office, Technology, Operations, and Risk. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in Tier-1 banks or top-tier consulting firms, possessing the technical depth to translate complex financial engineering requirements into scalable business outcomes within global, regulated markets.

Core Responsibilities & Transformation Leadership

- End-to-End Transformation Ownership: Lead the delivery of multi-year, mission-critical transformation programs from initial business case through to benefits realization and post-implementation review.

- Front-to-Back Change Orchestration: Manage the integration of change across the entire trade lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions between trade capture, risk management, and back-office settlement.

- Prime Brokerage Domain Leadership: Drive strategic initiatives specifically within Equities Prime Brokerage, covering trade lifecycle management, margin optimization, and client experience enhancements.

- Securities Lending & Equity Finance: Oversee workstreams focused on inventory availability, tri-party collateral management, and securities lending trade management while accounting for regional market variations.

- Governance and Risk Frameworks: Establish and lead senior-level project steering committees, maintaining rigorous risk management logs and ensuring all transformation activities meet global regulatory standards.

- Budget and Resource Planning: Take full accountability for program budgets, including resource allocation across geographically distributed teams and vendor management for third-party platforms.

- Technical-Business Translation: Bridge the gap between engineering teams and business stakeholders, translating technical system architectures into functional business capabilities.

- Agile and Traditional Methodologies: Implement and champion Agile, PMP, or PRINCE2 methodologies to ensure structured yet flexible delivery in high-pressure environments.

- Regulatory Awareness: Monitor and respond to evolving regulatory requirements (such as CSDR or SFTR) that impact Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance operations.

- Benefits Realization Tracking: Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation initiatives against long-term business goals.

Required Technical & Domain Expertise

- Product Knowledge: Expert understanding of Equities, Derivatives, Bonds, Swaps, and Loans, including their respective settlement cycles and risk profiles.

- Prime Brokerage Functions: Deep hands-on experience in trade capture, risk/margin/collateral management, and synthetic prime brokerage workflows.

- Inventory Management: Strong grasp of Equity Finance mechanisms, including inventory availability, borrow/lend rates, and collateral optimization.

- Industry Platforms: Familiarity with core industry platforms such as Traiana, Geneva, Access Fintech, Global 1, and Syncova.

- Global Market Dynamics: Broad knowledge of regulated financial markets, including regional nuances in trade reporting and compliance.

Leadership & Stakeholder Profile

- Senior Stakeholder Influence: Confident in managing and influencing high-ranking stakeholders across Front Office, Technology, Operations, and Risk departments.

- Strategic Thinking: Ability to visualize long-term target operating models while managing immediate tactical project milestones.

- Global Team Accountability: Proven ability to drive results and maintain accountability across cross-functional workstreams in multiple time zones.

- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering high-impact presentations to executive leadership.

- Resilience: Comfortable operating in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and complex dependencies.

Preferred Skills & Advanced Qualifications

- Regulatory Reporting Expertise: Specific experience in implementing changes driven by SFTR (Securities Financing Transactions Regulation) or CSDR (Central Securities Depositories Regulation).

- Digital Transformation: Knowledge of emerging technologies such as Cloud Migration, AI/ML in trade operations, or Blockchain applications for securities lending.

- Client Onboarding Optimization: Experience in re-engineering client onboarding and KYC/AML workflows for Prime Brokerage clients.

- Advanced Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master certifications are highly desirable.

- Data Analytics: Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI) to report on program health and transformation metrics.
