Role Overview:
Our client, a fast-growing FMCG company, is looking to hire a senior Sales Leader - General Trade to lead and scale its GT business across markets. The role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening distributor networks, and ensuring best-in-class on-ground execution.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep GT expertise, strong people leadership, and execution rigor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end General Trade sales strategy and execution
- Drive primary and secondary sales, volume growth, and market share across territories
- Build, manage, and optimize distributor and sub-distributor networks
- Lead GT fundamentals including beat planning, route optimization, outlet coverage, and productivity
- Drive numeric and weighted distribution across markets
- Design and execute trade schemes in line with business objectives
- Lead and mentor large, geographically spread field sales teams
- Ensure strong collaboration with marketing to drive in-store visibility and activation
- Work closely with supply chain and finance to ensure availability, credit discipline, and inventory health
- Track performance through KPIs, reviews, and field execution metrics
Candidate Profile:
- 10-15 years of experience in FMCG sales with strong depth in General Trade
- Proven track record of scaling GT businesses across regions or at a national level
- Deep understanding of distributor economics, trade structures, and GT execution levers
- Strong people leadership and team-building capabilities
- Data-driven, execution-focused, and hands-on leader
- Experience working in high-growth or scale-up FMCG environments preferred
