Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced National Sales Head to lead sales and commercial growth across the construction and mining equipment business, with a strong focus on used equipment, rental solutions, dealer management, and strategic customer development.
The role will be responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy, driving revenue and business performance, expanding market presence, strengthening dealer and customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities across major mining, infrastructure, and road projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the national sales strategy for construction and mining equipment, with a focus on used equipment and rental business.
- Own sales performance against business plans, revenue targets, profitability objectives, and other key commercial KPIs.
- Lead the annual business planning, sales forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning processes.
- Drive used equipment sales through direct sales channels, dealer networks, digital platforms, and other market channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, global/regional dealers, strategic accounts, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline by identifying opportunities across mining, road infrastructure, construction, and other large-scale projects.
- Develop targeted market strategies for major mining and infrastructure projects to increase market penetration and generate new business.
- Lead the rental business, optimizing fleet utilization, equipment availability, operating costs, and commercial returns.
- Monitor rental fleet performance, equipment condition, maintenance requirements, repair costs, and readiness for deployment.
- Work closely with operations, product support, regional business units, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of sales and rental initiatives.
- Identify new business models, market opportunities, and customer segments to drive sustainable growth.
- Establish and implement SOPs, sales processes, and standardized operating practices to improve efficiency, governance, and customer experience.
- Drive dealer performance, channel development, market coverage, and sales productivity across multiple regions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, equipment demand, pricing, and customer requirements to inform commercial strategy.
- Lead negotiations for major accounts, strategic deals, dealer partnerships, and high-value equipment transactions.
- Develop regular business reviews and provide senior management with insights on sales performance, pipeline, market opportunities, risks, and growth initiatives.
- Build, lead, and mentor regional sales teams and ensure effective execution of the national sales strategy.
- Strengthen brand visibility and market presence through customer engagement, industry events, digital channels, and targeted marketing initiatives.
Requirements:
- 14 - 20 years of relevant experience in sales and commercial leadership within the construction equipment, mining equipment, heavy machinery, or related industrial equipment industry.
- Proven experience leading national or multi-region sales operations with responsibility for significant revenue and business targets.
- Strong track record in used equipment sales, equipment rental, dealer/channel management, or related business models.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in revenue growth, pricing, margins, profitability, forecasting, and business planning.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing national sales strategies and go-to-market plans across diverse geographic markets.
- Strong relationships with large construction companies, mining organizations, infrastructure companies, dealers, contractors, and other relevant industry stakeholders.
- Experience managing large strategic accounts and negotiating high-value commercial transactions.
- Strong understanding of the construction, mining, infrastructure, and road development ecosystem.
- Experience managing and developing large, geographically distributed sales teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use market, customer, pipeline, and sales-performance data to drive business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and leadership capabilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively across markets as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
