The National Key Account Manager - Modern Trade is responsible for developing and executing the national strategy for key modern trade accounts across India. This role is critical in driving revenue, enhancing visibility, and building strong partnerships with leading national chains such as Reliance Retail, DMart, Big Bazaar, Spencer's, Metro, and others. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with trade marketing, supply chain, finance, and regional sales teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Account Management: Lead and manage relationships with national buyers across major modern trade accounts. Develop and negotiate annual business plans (JBPs), including revenue targets, joint marketing activities, and visibility drives. 2. Sales Planning & Execution: Deliver national volume, value, and profitability targets for modern trade. Coordinate with regional teams to ensure alignment and execution of national strategies. 3. Promotions & Visibility: Design and implement pan-India promotions, new product placements, and visibility initiatives. Ensure compliance with planograms and merchandising standards through regional execution teams. 4. Financial Management: Manage trade spends, claim reconciliations, and credit limits for key accounts. Track ROI on promotions and optimize trade investments. 5. Launches & Distribution: Drive the launch of new products through modern trade partners. Improve numeric and weighted distribution across all MT formats and geographies. 6. Analytics & Reporting: Monitor sales data, secondary sales, store-level performance, and stock health. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership and contribute to the GTM strategy. Qualifications & Experience: MBA in Sales/Marketing or related field. 7-12 years of experience in FMCG with at least 3 years in national modern trade roles. Proven track record of handling national accounts and meeting sales objectives.
