National Head - Operations

Location: Bangalore

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary National Head of Operations to lead and scale end-to-end operations across India. This leadership role is critical in driving operational excellence, fleet efficiency, charging infrastructure utilization, and sustainable growth across multiple cities. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-city transport or logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. P&L Management:

- Own and manage the national Profit & Loss (P&L) for operations, ensuring profitability through operational excellence and cost efficiency.

- Drive financial performance by optimizing cost structures, asset utilization, and operational productivity.

- Monitor key financial metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve business revenue targets.

2. Operational Excellence:

- Lead national operations strategy, planning, and execution aligned with business and ESG goals.

- Drive KPIs including fleet uptime, charging utilization, turnaround time (TAT), SLA adherence, and cost optimization.

- Oversee fleet deployment, maintenance, servicing, and lifecycle planning across geographies.

- Continuously refine logistics, asset deployment, and energy consumption practices.

- Implement tech-driven SOPs and dashboards for real-time visibility and decision-making.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team including regional heads, cluster managers, and field supervisors.

- Collaborate closely with Product, Technology, Commercial, HR, and Finance teams.

- Implement robust performance management systems and incentive structures.

- Drive recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies for driver workforce and ground staff.

4. Business Growth & Strategy:

- Formulate and execute national operations strategy to support business expansion and scalability.

- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and cost optimization.

- Support business teams in scaling operations for new clients and geographies.

- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

5. Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and ESG commitments.

- Champion a strong safety culture across drivers, vehicles, and passengers.

- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.

- Establish audit controls and service quality assurance frameworks.

6. Technology & Innovation:

- Leverage the company's proprietary tech stack and ERP tools to digitize and streamline operations.

- Partner with Product and Technology teams to enhance fleet tracking, route optimization, and predictive maintenance.

- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Qualifications and Experience:

- MBA from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institute OR B.Tech + MBA with operations specialization.

- 15 - 18 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in national or regional operational leadership roles.

- Experience in mobility, logistics, EVs, supply chain, or last-mile delivery sectors preferred.

- Strong track record in P&L management, cost optimization, and scaling operations.

- Deep understanding of fleet operations, logistics networks, and operational KPIs.

- Tech-savvy with experience in analytics, ERP, and CRM platforms.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Experience in high-growth or startup environments is an added advantage.
