About the Organization

Our client is a fast-growing, tech-led NBFC backed by a global financial services group. The organization operates a partnership-driven lending model across consumer and MSME segments, leveraging data, digital infrastructure, and co-lending ecosystems to scale rapidly in India.

The firm is in a high-growth phase, building a differentiated, analytics-led lending platform with a strong focus on risk discipline and customer experience.

The Role

The National Head Collections will be responsible for building and leading a best-in-class, pan-India collections and recovery function, driving:

- Portfolio quality and NPA containment

- Scalable collections infrastructure (digital + field + agency)

- Data-led decisioning and performance management

- Strong regulatory and customer-centric practices

Key Resonsibilites:

1. Collections Strategy & Portfolio Performance

- Define end-to-end collections strategy across delinquency buckets

- Own key portfolio metrics (NPAs, roll rates, recovery, cost-to-collect)

- Drive segmentation-led, data-driven decisioning

2. Pan-India Collections Operations

- Lead multi-channel collections (tele, field, digital) at scale

- Manage regional teams and drive consistent execution

- Ensure productivity, governance, and process adherence

3. Digital & Analytics Transformation

- Build digital-first collections journeys (dialers, nudges, automation)

- Leverage analytics for prioritization and performance tracking

- Partner with tech/data teams for scalable infrastructure

4. Agency, Legal & Recovery Management

- Manage agency ecosystem with strong SLAs and performance metrics

- Oversee legal recoveries, settlements, and late-stage resolution

- Drive efficient recovery across buckets including write-offs

5. Risk Collaboration & Leadership

- Partner with Risk/Credit to strengthen underwriting via feedback loops

- Ensure regulatory compliance and customer-centric practices

- Build and lead a high-performing, data-driven collections organization

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

- 12-18+ years of experience in collections within NBFCs / Banks / Fintechs

- Proven track record of leading pan-India collections at scale

- Strong exposure to unsecured lending (personal loans, MSME, digital lending) preferred

Leadership Traits

- Strong commercial and risk orientation

- Ability to operate in high-growth, evolving environments

- Data-driven decision-making mindset

- Ability to balance execution rigor with strategic thinking
