Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Underwriting & Approval:
- Oversee end-to-end credit appraisal and sanctioning of SME proposals including CC/OD, Term Loans, and Working Capital limits.
- Evaluate financial statements, CMA data, bank statements, GST returns, cash flows, and projections.
- Assess borrower risk through industry analysis, promoter background, business model evaluation, and collateral/security assessment.
- Approve cases within delegated authority and recommend higher exposures to senior committees.
Policy & Process Management:
- Design, implement, and update SME credit policies, SOPs, and underwriting frameworks.
- Ensure alignment with RBI guidelines, internal risk appetite, and audit requirements.
- Drive standardization of credit processes across locations to support scalable growth.
Portfolio & Risk Management:
- Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency trends, early warning signals (EWS), and stress accounts.
- Work closely with collections, legal, and recovery teams to control NPAs and credit costs.
- Periodically review exposure norms, sector caps, and concentration risks.
Business & Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with sales/business teams to enable responsible credit growth without compromising risk standards.
- Provide guidance on deal structuring, pricing, and mitigation strategies.
- Support product innovation for SME lending in coordination with product and risk teams.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a pan-India credit team, including regional and zonal credit managers.
- Build a strong performance-driven culture with training on SME underwriting, compliance, and risk management.
- Conduct periodic credit audits and quality reviews.

Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in SME credit underwriting and working capital assessment
- In-depth knowledge of banking/NBFC lending norms and RBI regulations
- Financial analysis, CMA preparation, and cash flow modeling
- Risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, and stress management
- Leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
Educational Qualification:
- CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA / ICWA or equivalent professional qualification
