Job Overview:
The National Credit Head - SME will lead a team of approximately 30 credit analysts and underwriters across India. The individual will be responsible for the credit analysis and underwriting of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) proposals, focusing on ticket sizes ranging from - 45 lakhs to - 3 crores. This role involves evaluating new cases valued at around - 50 to - 60 crores monthly and managing renewals worth approximately - 15 to - 20 crores per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of credit analysts and underwriters to ensure effective credit decision-making.
Credit Analysis: Oversee the evaluation of credit proposals, ensuring thorough due diligence and analysis of business viability, financial health, and risk assessment.
Underwriting Standards: Establish and maintain underwriting standards in compliance with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements, ensuring quality and consistency in credit decisions.
Portfolio Management: Monitor the credit portfolio to identify trends and potential risk factors, and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with SME lending.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales, risk, and legal teams to facilitate smooth credit processing and to address any issues arising during the underwriting process.
Performance Tracking: Track and report on team performance metrics, including turnaround times, approval rates, and portfolio quality.
Strategic Input: Contribute to the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the bank's SME lending capabilities.
Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, competition, and regulatory changes to adapt credit strategies swiftly.
