About the Role :

We are hiring for a National Collections Head for our client, a listed NBFC based in Bangalore. The role will be responsible for leading and scaling the Pan-India collections function for the Personal Loans business.

The organization is looking for a strong collections leader who has progressed steadily through collections roles across multiple regions and has hands-on experience managing large retail portfolios. This role will play a critical part in building and strengthening the in-house collections team and driving portfolio quality at scale.

The ideal candidate should bring deep expertise in unsecured lending, specifically Personal Loans, along with strong exposure to collections strategy, recovery operations, vendor management, analytics, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the end-to-end Pan-India collections function for the Personal Loans portfolio.

- Build and strengthen the in-house collections team, processes, governance, and operational framework.

- Drive collections efficiency across buckets including early-stage, mid-stage, and recovery collections.

- Manage collections strategy, portfolio monitoring, roll rates, recoveries, and delinquency control.

- Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, and Business teams to improve portfolio quality and customer outcomes.

- Develop region-wise collections strategies based on portfolio behaviour and market dynamics.

- Manage agency/vendor partnerships while ensuring strong governance and compliance standards.

- Build scalable collections processes supported by analytics, automation, and digital interventions.

- Monitor key portfolio metrics including bounce rates, flow rates, NPA movement, and recovery performance.

- Lead large regional and zonal collections teams across multiple geographies.

- Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, fair practices code, and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Drive productivity, training, and performance management across the collections organization.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- 12 - 15 years of experience in Collections within NBFC or fintech.

- Mandatory experience in Personal Loans / unsecured lending collections.

- Proven experience managing multiple regions or Pan-India collections operations.

- Strong career progression across collections roles with increasing leadership responsibilities.

- Hands-on experience handling high-volume retail collections portfolios.

- Strong understanding of collections analytics, recovery strategies, legal escalation, and vendor governance.

- Experience in building or scaling in-house collections teams will be highly preferred.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with RBI regulations and collections compliance standards.
