About the role:

You will join the preventive public healthcare vertical to lead research on nutrition, dietary patterns, metabolic health, and their role in disease prevention and healthy ageing. As Research Lead for Nutrition Science, you will be responsible for generating and synthesising evidence on nutrition and metabolic health, evaluating dietary interventions, and developing evidence-based nutrition recommendations. You will translate scientific evidence into practical recommendations and frameworks that can inform preventive health interventions, programmes, and policy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leading nutrition and metabolic health research: You will lead research examining the relationship between nutrition, dietary patterns, metabolic health, and health outcomes across the life course.

- Researching nutrition and dietary determinants: You will investigate the role of dietary intake, dietary patterns, nutrient adequacy, and other nutritional determinants in shaping metabolic and population health outcomes.

- Evaluating dietary interventions: You will assess evidence on dietary and nutrition interventions, including their effectiveness, feasibility, and potential for improving metabolic health and preventing disease.

- Developing nutrition recommendations: You will synthesise scientific evidence to develop practical, evidence-based nutrition recommendations, with consideration of different population groups, life stages, dietary contexts, and health needs.

- Studying nutrition and disease prevention: You will examine evidence linking nutrition and dietary factors with major preventable diseases and identify opportunities for nutrition-led preventive interventions.

- Generating and synthesising evidence: You will design and oversee literature reviews, evidence syntheses, research studies, and analytical work related to nutrition and metabolic health. You will ensure that research outputs are methodologically rigorous, scientifically credible, and relevant to Indian contexts.

- Building domain knowledge: You will develop and maintain knowledge resources on nutrition, dietary interventions, metabolic health, and related areas, strengthening the organisation's institutional understanding of nutrition science.

- Client interaction and communication: You will present research findings and nutrition-related recommendations to government stakeholders, clients, and allied institutions, translating technical evidence into clear and actionable insights.

- Public interaction for advocacy: You will contribute to publications, workshops, discussions, and other public-facing engagements that communicate the role of nutrition and dietary behaviours in prevention and healthy ageing.

Eligibility criteria:

Must have:

- 2-5 years of relevant experience in nutrition science, dietetics, clinical nutrition, metabolic science, public health nutrition, or allied research domains, with demonstrated experience contributing to research or evidence-generation programmes.

- A postgraduate or doctoral qualification from a tier I or tier II institute in the following or similar disciplines: Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Metabolic Science, Public Health Nutrition, Food and Nutrition Science, Public Health or related disciplines with a strong focus on nutrition.

- Strong understanding of nutrition, dietary patterns, metabolic health, and their relationship with disease prevention and population health.

- Demonstrated experience in nutrition research and evidence synthesis, including literature reviews, dietary intervention research, nutritional assessment, or related research methodologies.

- Ability to critically evaluate scientific evidence and translate findings into practical, evidence-based nutrition recommendations.

- Strong analytical and scientific writing skills, with the ability to communicate research findings through technical reports, presentations, research outputs, and other knowledge products.

- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with nutrition scientists, dietitians, clinicians, public health professionals, researchers, and other domain experts.

Good to have:

- Experience conducting research on dietary interventions, metabolic health, nutritional epidemiology, dietary patterns, or nutrition-related disease prevention.

- Experience working with Indian nutrition, dietary, metabolic, or population health datasets.

- Experience in nutritional epidemiology, dietary assessment, intervention evaluation, or quantitative analysis of nutrition and health outcomes.

- Peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, or other research outputs in nutrition, dietetics, metabolic health, public health nutrition, or related fields.

- Proficiency with analytical and statistical tools such as R, Stata, Python, or equivalent software used for research and quantitative analysis.
